HOSTING A COURSE

Benefits of hosting: Agencies that host courses earn free registrations based on the number of students that sign up for the course. Flat fee and fee per student arrangements are available.

Responsibilities of hosting: Hosting agencies provide adequate classroom accommodations with audio visual equipment as well as room sufficient for the class to break into working groups.  Range facilities and additional supplies are necessary for portions of the Shooting Incident Reconstruction class.

Hosting Tri-Tech Sponsored Courses

Bloodstain Pattern Analysis, Death Investigation,  Investigative Analysis and Crime Scene Reconstruction,  Advanced Scene Reconstruction, and Shooting Incident Reconstruction (SIR) courses are sponsored by Tritech Forensics (tritechtraining.com). Hosting an Essentials of Criminal Investigation Course

Hosting an Essentials of Criminal Investigation Course requires handling registration and fee collection, and providing classroom facilities. Posting the course through statewide and regional law enforcement training networks aids in marketing. Attractive course fliers are provided.

Benefits:

Specialized training increases competency and professionalism but can also strain tight budgets.   Some police departments host courses as a means to obtain free quality training for their personnel while at the same time boosting their training budget. How does this work? Graff Training offers two pricing options:

  1. Flat Fee:

A flat fee of $3975 includes training and all expenses and remains the same regardless of enrollment. The hosting department may charge students an enrollment fee to cover the flat fee, any department expenses, and a reasonable profit as deemed appropriate.   If a break-even point was calculated, any enrollment above that number would be a profit to the department training program. The department could also set a few slots aside for their own personnel.

  1. Fee Per Student: ($250)

The hosting department pays instructors a set amount for each enrolled student.   The host receives one free tuition for every 4 paid enrollees. For example, for 12 paid enrollees, the department would receive 3 free slots, for a total class size of 15. For 20 paid enrollees, the department receives 5 free slots for a total of 25 class members. 25 is maximum for all classes.   This option requires a minimum of 12 paid enrollments. The host’s training budget can profit from this arrangement by setting the enrollment fee a little higher per student than what it is paying the instructor.   This option may work well for departments concerned about getting sufficient enrollment.

Flexibility:   Graff Training may consider other fee schedules based on the needs of a department.   For hosting inquiries, contact Gary Graff at graff.training@gmail.com
